Fun Photos with Rain and Lights

The camera experience continues. Last night on the way home, it was raining and dark. I was amazed at the beautiful reflections cast on the roads. Add to that the multiplication effect of rain drops on the windshield and I had a field day creating some new visual illusions.

Hopefully you will have a chance to check them out at the Totally Random Shez blog.

Please drop me a note at either blog to let me know what you think of them. The header at Totally Random Shez looks like a New Year Celebration. And with that I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

Cheers,

Shez

PS Don’t be afraid to share the blog with others. If you enjoyed the photos, perhaps someone else will as well.

The Amazing Gift

I hope you all had a lovely Merry Christmas. Mine was filled with food, family, laughter and love. It also contained an amazing surprise that I had a hard time putting down. I am still in shock that even with tons of help from my husband who knew he was responsible for my quandary, we had everything ready for our guests on time.

Well, everything except me. I was clean and groomed including my makeup but I was still in my tee-shirt and jeans when folks arrived. I faced photo ops I couldn’t pass up, time for which were not on my “to-do list.” I thought about slipping away and changing quickly, but in the end remained in my casual attire and had a very lovely day. Any of you who are photographers will likely understand my priorities.

The Beautiful Christmas Visitor

With that being said, you can read about my early morning surprise at Totally Random Shez.

Frozen Fog Photo Essay

Hello, again.

Today’s blog is another photo essay at Totally Random Shez. An amazing display by nature of what the world looks like when it is encased in white crystals. I’m sorry to report that there was an “oopsie” in yesterday’s link. If you are interested in actually looking at the photos please…

…check out Frozen Fog Photos at the following link:

Team Luncheon

Here is the link to my post at Totally Random Shez. You might enjoy catching me there  where I show you the stuff from the luncheon. It was such an honor to have the Colorado College Women’s Basketball team to our house for lunch last Sunday. I think you will enjoy the pictures.

Also I am excited to finally have a new company blog. Actually the company is not new, it has been around since 1997, it is the BLOG which is new. I’m thinking it might be a great way to spread the word about what we do. It is my day job.  And if you travel out-of-town or work during the day, you need to check out our line of products. It may be something you’ve been looking for.

It won’t cost you a penny to look. This is where I spend my days. http://wp.me/p242wM-1

Liebster Award

This is a copy and paste of a blog I follow by Xandre Verkes of South Africa. I had to share it as is. I the next few days I will follow the directions and surprise someone else with a much earned and/or needed pat on the back. For tonight I encourage all to check our Xandre’s fun blog.

First of all – – – super many thanks to The Island Traveller & Lawnmower Vision Questfor awarding me with the Liebster Award!! I am so blessed that there are (in fact) people who read my blog & actually enjoy it (could you believe?) :D … It certainly makes me superly happy to know this!!! I love the posts of both these blogs & would definitely be disappointed if you do not visit their blogs… Lets honour this award for what it is & what the purpose of it is!!! Please click on the links to their blogs (opens in new window)!!!

What’s A Liebster Award?

A Liebster Blog Award is given to talented bloggers who have less than 200 followers. “Liebster” is a German word that means “Dearest” or “Beloved”. It also means ”Favourite”. So, in a way the award not only recognizes these bloggers as amazingly gifted in their own right but also as your very own personal favourites.

The Rules Of The Liebster Award:
1) Thank the fellow blogger who awarded it to you.
2) Link back to the said blogger who shared the award.
3) Post the award on your blog.
4) Pick 5 other blogs you want to recognise.
5) Visit the 5 bloggers and let them know that they receive the award.

I wanted to give the award to 10 bloggers… but decided to change my approach slightly!!! I have quite a few followers, but decided to give these awards to the people who actually take the time to read my post!!! (&no, its not about boosting my ego or something similar…)!!! I have found over the last couple of months that there are a lot of people who don’t actually read posts – they just go on ‘liking’ them…. now granted, I too ‘like’ a lot of posts, but I do actually read them & drop a comment every now & then (you know, to let them know that I’m enjoying their posts or really like something that they posted :) )!!! This is why I’ve decided to award the following bloggers (in no particular order) with the Liebster Award:

1. 2 Rivers Photos – Posting regular (stunning) photographs!!!

2. Paris at my Doorstep – Becca (or Rebecca) takes me on a journey as she Journals about her expat adventures!!!

3. Shez Blogs – Shez is a writer, illustrator, photographer… & friend!!! She writes about her daily projects & activities, & sometimes just photo or two!!!

4. Photos from the Loonybin – Cindy is inspired photographer, very new to the blogging world, who wants to learn &broaden her skills!!!

5. Filipe Miguel Photography –  Hobby photographer from Portugal, almost always first to leave me a kind comment on my posts!! My blog would be lonely without him!!!

6. John Stirling Photography – Landscape/Travel photographer with great photographs & always a kind word to spare!!!

These are all great blogs & I have found a friend in all of them!!! Take the time to go and discover these amazing blogs… I guarantee that you will like them a lot!!!

This concludes my post for tonight (as promised… yay!!!)… Thank you so much for checking in… I hope you had a fabulous day!!! :D **

Be Careful What You Wish For

Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it. My friend dollyknickers recently commented on a post I did on Totally Random Shez. It showed some amazing light from the window. She wanted to know what the window looked like.

A couple of months ago I had taken photos of that window, because in one view there appears to be six very different scenes. I will post them here in order and the final one which depicts the window in total. Since the photo was taken indoors and the light outside was bright the window appears to have very dark stained wood moldings. In truth all of the woodwork is a very bright white. The camera can be so good at fooling us, when we think it always tells the truth.

To check out the light see my blog post at Totally Random Shez. I will add the link tomorrow. In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this little window gallery of photos. It will be fun to take the same shots now that the leaves are gone. What would the window vignettes reveal?

Cheers,

Shez

Oh, please don’t forget to leave a comment. I do love to hear from you.

Women’s College Basketball

What a fabulous weekend. Our granddaughter’s Colorado College Women’s Basketball team made a rare trip to Oregon to play two games. Short drives from home for both. She is a senior this year and for many of her family and friends this was their last chance to see her play in person.

Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, college friends, friends forever well at least since preschool days were all there to cheer the team on. They didn’t win, but for the fans just being there was the most important element.

Check it out in detail at my Totally Random Shez blog. Here is the link:

After such a busy weekend we hope to relax a bit and enjoy the upcoming Christmas Season. Our decorations are in place, the house is clean, left-overs for meals this week, and life should be less hectic. Perhaps a bit of time to catch up on a few odds and ends and also time to spend with my awesome hubs.

Best wishes to all,

Shez
